If you had a gun like this in your hands wouldn’t you hold on to it a little more carefully? A Ministry of Defence soldier in Britain dropped a submachine gun over the side of a boat. Apparently he just lost his grip?

The Ministry of Defence is a civilian force that guards military sites around the United Kingdom. the information comes from a simple reporting form used to track what firearms are lost or stolen over the year. In the 2016-2017 fiscal year, 10 firearms went mising.

There are no details available other than what it says in the reporting form:
A Heckler and Koch MP5 was lost at sea (fell overboard) by a MOD policeman. The value of the H&K was listed as 964.29 Pounds, which translates to $1250.88 in US dollars.

The form also says that the British Army lost a Glock 17 “on Ops”, three .22 Anshutz Biathlon rifles belonging to the Army were stolen from a vehicle in Sweden, four .22 bolt action Biathlon rifles also belonging to the Army were stolen from a vehicle in Sweden, and an L85A2 (SA80) rifle belonging to the Army was lost in the water during an exercise in Brunei.
