Survey Shows Which People Are More Likely to Own a Gun
Gallup poll shows which groups will have guns.
Maybe it’s not a big surprise, but according to a new Gallup poll, if you’ve been the victim of an assault or a theft or property crime, you’re more likely to decide to buy a gun.
A new Gallup Crime Survey released a few days ago says that crime victim in the United States are the group most likely to own a firearm. A third of people who reported being victimized owned a gun, compared with 28 percent of people who said they had not been victimized. The analysis was based on a combined 11,165 interviews from surveys conducted 2000, 2005, 2007-2011 and 2013-2016.
The survey also tells us that small town and rural residents are more likely to own a gun. Again, not a big surprise. 39% of people who live outside of cities have guns, compared with 28% of people living in suburbs and 22% of people living in cities.
We’re glad these people who identify as victims are now armed. But in our opinion, the time to get a gun and learn how to use it is BEFORE you become a victim. Am I right?
