Massachusetts Sued Over Gun Laws
NRA and activists sue the state for being too strict.
Massachusetts has some of the most strict gun laws in the country. Massachusetts Attorney General Maura Healey last year implemented a ban on guns that are made to look like AR-15s. Before that, ARs were banned in 1998. The lawsuit seeks to make Healey’s “copycat ban” unenforceable.
Last July, Healey informed gun sellers and manufacturers that a “copy” or “duplicate” gun that looks like an AR-15 or AK-47 would not be legal in the state. The lawsuit says it is an unfair ban because other states allow the guns.
The National Rifle Association helped file the lawsuit.
