This “Security Guard” at a Gun Show Didn’t Understand the Job Description!

Shooting takes place in Tulsa

Video Surveillance footage of shooting at Wanenma 2017 04 07 12 20…

OK, Oklahoma. Please explain to us how a security guard hired to keep people safe at a weekend gun show wouldn’t have known it was not OK to pull out a loaded gun, point it at people, and fire it!

The man’s name is Brian Pounds, and he’s not a cop but the video shows him wearing a t-shirt with “police” on the back. Pounds works as a Tulsa County Assessor’s Office employee but had previously worked as a reserve deputy. Another man, named Rick Treadwell, who was a former sergeant, along with Pounds and Police Chief Pat Dean were working security at Wanenmacher’s Tulsa Arms show two weekends ago.

Although it is a gun show, firearms are not allowed to be brought inside the arena. The security video shows what appears to be Pounds pulling a handgun from a bag, handling it for a few seconds, then pointing it in the direction of Dean and Treadwell before pulling the trigger. The video shows a flash from the gun’s muzzle. Right after that, Treadwell jumped from his seat and grabs his hand. The bullet struck Treadwell in the middle finger. The article says that no charges will be filed against Pounds.

Pounds then put the handgun down on a nearby table and then called for personnel on his walkie talkie. Something seems very fishy about this. The video looks like he knew what he was doing. It even looks like he would have known it was loaded by the way he was checking the gun out. I’d have to say that Pounds acted as if he knew what he was doing and the shooting was intentional. What do you think? If you were Treadwell would you press charges? I’m pretty sure I would.
