School Deputy Lies About Shooting Gun in School

There's a word for people like this...

We first read about this guy a few days ago. Stupid doesn’t even begin to describe this guy and his careless mishandling of his weapon that nicked a teacher in another room.

In Auburn, Michigan, a Bay County Sheriff named Adam Brown who was the high l security officer, pretended he didn’t actually shoot his gun off. But that’s not the only thing. He and another of the school’s teacher were in the robotics classroom using the force machine to test the trigger pull on a Springfield EMP 9mm. The school’s cameras picked up that Brown and the teacher left the room. Brown returned shortly later alone.

He loaded up the force machine again, by himself this time, using a .380-caliber Sig Sauer, and this time the gun went off. The guns were his weapons he was authorized to carry. When the Sig went off, it passed through drywall and entered a classroom where there were 30 students. It scraped the ceiling and bounced off some tiles. But when it bounced, it bounced back and hit the teacher, Brenda Amthor, in the neck. Luckily it was only a scratch as by then the bullet had lost its speed.

Amthor then called the assistant principal, Brad Pennell, and told him that something had come through the wall and hit her in the neck. She told Pennell that whatever hit her was hot when she went to pick it up. When Pennell picked up the bullet, he called for deputy Brown. Guess what Brown did then?

First of all, he didn’t admit to having fired his gun. Since they could see that the “object” was a bullet, they placed the school on lock-down mode while they tried to figure out what had happened. Brown took the bullet, put it in his pocket, then told investigators later that he “lost” it.

Police then brought a K-9 to the scene who found the bullet over a fence on the school’s far side. They also found the fired gun, which Brown had placed in his personal vehicle.

Brown was required to turn over his school keys, the Sig and his cell phone. He can’t be on school grounds. He was transferred to administrative duties. As of the time of the report of this incident, Brown had yer to face any charges. Amazingly, in 2012 Brown was named Officer of the Year. I think they should name him Stupid Officer of the Year.
