Should You Buy Tactical Shooting Gloves?

Mechanix Wear recently sent us shooting gloves to test out. We got to choose between the Fast Fit Wolf Grey ($16) and the Original Speciality .5 Covert ($28). Mechanix kindly sent us medium and large to choose from. I chose large, and they fit well. They’re both comfortable gloves, and fit snugly but not too tight. With this kind of product, tightness is important. The gloves must be snug but not so tight they flop around. They should not be loose at all. Fit is important.

If you’re buying online, definitely take the time to look at the glove sizing guide before making your purchase. You’ll want to print out the page at full size and place your hand on it. If you can’t do that, make sure that the website you’re buying from has a friendly return policy, which Mechanix.com does.

Overall, these gloves are highly recommended if you’re in a tactical situation. It is possible if they don’t have the right fit for your hands that it might interfere with your shot, so again, it is important to make sure you get the right size gloves. We also highly recommend these gloves if you’re shooting in cold weather. They are warm and insulated, to keep your hands warm. Guns are made of metal, right? They get cold and take the heat away from your hand as you are holding it. This gets very uncomfortable after a while. So definitely, if you’re going to be outdoors in cold, get these gloves!

The stitching of these gloves seemed high quality and sturdy. For all the great qualities of these gloves, we have to say that they are available at great prices.
