Sig Sauer, that gun manufacturer, has long been associated with New Hampshire industry. A new home base for Sig Sauer will be in Arkansas.

The gun maker, which has more than 1,400 employees in New Hampshire, is building a 70,000-square-foot ammunition facility in Arkansas. The company said they didn’t have enough of a cheap energy supply to expand in New Hampshire, although continuing to grow in the state where they already were was the company’s first choice.

The cost of power in New Hampshire is given as 12 cents per killowatt per hour. By contrast, the cost is less than half that in Arkansas. So that’s a significant cost=saving move for the company, for sure. Arkansas gun fans, this move will add 200 gun industry jobs to your state.
